If you were to ever ask us what the quintessential Australian Shepherd looks like and if we have ever had a dog that leaves such an impression that we truly believe that it adheres to what would be an ideal example of the breed then we would say that our Basil comes to mind. Not without her own quirks, Basil truly is something else. Think of a companion that is able to do it all. A dog that is going to keep up with your day to day activities. A dog that has the capability and just enough drive that it can move livestock with ease but cools off quickly and knows when to relax and just be a pet. A dog that is highly intelligent with an ideal temperament, sweet disposition and a personality that will have you wanting to take it home. Take all of this and put it in a medium build body that is well balanced and proportional, with a full coat, silky textured furr, rosed ears, a unique patterned coat and you’d be talking about our girl. 

Basil is the cornerstone and foundation female of our breeding program. Her pedigree shows the amount of work and thought that was put into breeding a high caliber Australian Shepherd. Coming from some spectacular working lines like C4 and ASCA’s #1 Hall Of Fame Kennel, Las Rocosa. She isn’t just a Dam in our program but a companion and loving member of our ever growing family.  Basil loves to enjoy time with "Mom" by keeping her company whether that's in the tractor garage getting kid stalls ready during kidding season, out in the pasture helping move goats when its time to rotate pastures and move permanetting or kicking back and enjoying snuggles by the fire as the family relaxes.
